8th Grade Takes Science Outside

On Tuesday Sep 15th, Kacey Weber from the Piscataquis County Soil and Water Conservation District and Alaina Kresovic, a soil scientist from the Piscataquis County USDA Service Center, visited Mr. Dumont's 8th grade science class. This lesson has evolved over the last few years to use soil science as a way to cover data literacy, physical and chemical properties, and modeling. Students visited two sites on SeDoMoCha's campus, observed soil samples, collected descriptive data, and conducted pH and temperature testing.
